How To Submit Ant Samples for ID

Infested Hāpu‘u:

  • Background: During the trace forwards on hāpuʻu shipments in December 2013 and January 2014, USDA APHIS staff detected LFA on Lanai in a location where infested hāpuʻu had been planted. Pūlama Lānaʻi took on the responsibility to treat and monitor this limited area. Additionally, they have been provided with survey, treatment, and prevention information. No little fire ants were detected during a recent survey of ports and nurseries.
